In January 2004, Justin went into Basement Records to record '...honey', 10 original, live, one-take acoustic songs, kept intentionally simple and intimate.

In May 2005 he re-recorded the first track from '...honey' (Sold) in New York, with producer and musician Tommy Allen (Maroon 5) and musician Paul Carbonara (Blondie, The Mudlarks, Mary McBride). Multi-platinum and Grammy award winning engineer, Ed Stasium, did the final mix.

During the summer of 2006, Justin formed a band billed as 'Justin Thorne & The Chiefs' and performed at the legendary Jersey Arts Centre. The performance was recorded and mixed by Jono Rothwell and is available on CD now.. Along with the live performance, the CD also features the New York mix of 'Sold'.

Justin's first book, In the Shadows: An anthology of the curious, was published in 2007 and is available in Waterstones and all other good book shops. The book was the number one selling paperback in Jersey for three weeks and remained in the top-ten for ten weeks.

A quasi-academic, Justin has had a number of academic journals on online communities and postmodern marketing published in the USA. In 2007, he presented his own research on the phenomenon of blogs and discussion forums in Orlando, at the 4th International Conference on Cybernetics, Information Technology Systems and Applications; winning 'Best Paper' for his session. His article on blogging was recently published in the Chartered Institute of Marketing's 'Marketer' magazine.

Justin is currently working with Jono Rothwell on studio versions of the new tracks presented at the Arts Centre show and he is writing his debut novel-length project, Islander.
